The Makings of a Pig

December 11th, 2006

New video: a three-minute pig! Of course, it take more time than that, but our videographer decided to give it a faster pace. Enjoy!

Pigs

Other than that, things are going well at the Salon des métiers d’art. A lot of people last weekend. Christmas shopping is in the air…

Back in Montreal

Hanging Thingamagig

November 29th, 2006

Like anyone, we like to try new stuff, come up with new ideas, new designs. And show season is a good time to try them out. So here is Jeff having fun on a hanging thingamagig, which we’ve unveiled at the One of a Kind (unfortunately, we don’t have any good picture of this product at this time). That’s one way to spend your Sunday afternoon…

Back again

November 22nd, 2006

Okay, have to admit it’s been a while. A very busy while. A few shows, a lot of orders, troubles with the main (gas) furnace, a second furnace (electrical), production, production. And now, back to the show. The One of a kind that is (booth #F-35, if you must know). We’ll be there for the whole show, November 23 to December 3.

With all that, we haven’t had much time to work on the website. But we’ll make an effort in the next few weeks to keep it alive and up to date.

Philadelphia

July 20th, 2006

Lots have been happening since the beginning of the year! More on that later, but for now, we’ll be at the Buyers Market of American Craft in Philadelphia till Sunday.

The Buyers Market of American Craft (BMAC), a wholesale show held twice a year in Philadelphia, offers a venue for innovative artists to connect with qualified galleries. This show provides a professional setting for the development of wholesale contacts and generates new business for both buyers and sellers of American craft art.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, come see us at booth 3424.

Holidays

December 22nd, 2005

Well, this has been a very nice show. A bit tiring (three weeks!) but good reception by the public. It’s always nice to see the stars in people’s eyes when they look at glassworks. The waterbulbs sold very well (had to make a new batch midshow), witchballs too. Even a few pigs took flight.

But now its time for a little holiday break with friends and family. And then it’s back to creation mode. Got a few good ideas I want to try out too…

So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And see you all in 2006.

Shows!

December 2nd, 2005

I know, I haven’t written in a while. I have been swamped: setting up the studio, production, and two shows (Signature and Moose) in Toronto. And now, the Salon des métiers d’art, in Montréal, until December 21.

Come see me at booth #534!

Sale canceled

September 7th, 2005

This sale has been canceled.

Next Saturday (September 10), there will be a Studio sale. This is a good opportunity to meet the artist and to get, at affordable prices, glass art. These are mostly ends of series, prototypes and pieces with small defects which couldn’t be sold in a gallery. One of the goals of these bi-annual sales is to democratize glass art by selling piece up to ten time cheaper than in the usual sales network.

This has not yet been confirmed but Jean-François Pomerleau, another 2000 graduate of Espace Verre should also be there.

The sale will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the Simard alleyway (just south of Mont-Royal Av.), corner of Marquette (which is one street west of Papineau), in Montreal

Firing up!

July 19th, 2005

Well, the studio is up and running. We finaly fired up the main furnace yesterday. I’m not going to go into details as to all that has gone wrong and the time and hard work that has been spent in the last few weeks to get to this point. The Digitry controler is all wired up. Everything is ready to start production.
So, here we go…

This is new

July 19th, 2005

Basically, what’s new is the site. Especially this section. Nothing in it yet, but it’s coming, don’t worry.

So, what’s this all about: blowing glass. Setting up my new workshop and restarting production. About the pieces, the techniques, the shows, life and everything.

Stay tuned.
